Tenth Foxhill Super Cross on April 18-19

The Foxhill Super Cross 2002 organised by the Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders and conducted by the Sri Lanka Military Academy for the 10th successive year will be worked off on April 18 and 19 at Diyatalawa.

This popular event was inaugurated in 1993 and since then it has been conducted successfully as a fund raiser for the improvement of infrastructure at the Military Academy. The organisers are hoping to provide a full days entertainment with the intention of developing this sport in the country. The preliminaries of the meet will be held on April 18 and final round on April 19.

This years meet will have even more significance as the event will be considered as a championship to decide the overall winner at the end of the year. The Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders has decided to select the champion of champions in different categories at the completion of all major events for the current year.

The first event of the championship will be the Katukurunda race followed by races at Radella, Foxhill Super Cross, Hill Climb, Gajaba Super Cross and again at Katukurunda. The winner of each event will be awarded ten points and the competitor with the highest number of points will be declared as the national champion.

The Foxhill Super Cross meet will have a total of 23 events commencing at 8.30 a.m. The motor cycle track too has been modified with the intention of providing more excitement to the spectators. The race track includes additional jumps for the motor cyclists but the track for the cars remain as the same.

The entries for the meet close on April 2 at 2.00 p.m at the Park and Shop Super Market, Nugegoda.
