Delmege Insurance out-sources brand management to MTI

Delmege Insurance Brokers (DIB), one of the foremost insurance brokers in Sri Lanka, has outsourced its brand management to the international marketing consultancy MTI to further enhance professionalism and service levels, the company said.

With gross written premium (GWP) of over Rs. 350 million at the conclusion of the last financial year, Delmege Insurance is a leading service provider to the corporate and institutional sectors, which require a high level of expertise and commitment in end-to-end insurance solutions, the company said.

The appointment of MTI to manage the Delmege Insurance brand would include the development of new marketing strategies, innovative services and training programs for company personnel with a focus on relationship management, DIB's Deputy Chairman Niranjan Mendis said.

"One of our immediate priorities is to create better awareness in the corporate sector of the role of an insurance broker as a competent insurance portfolio manager," he said. "Not many companies are aware that, as an end-to-end insurance solutions provider, a professional insurance broker can reduce their insurance costs while improving the cover, at no cost to the client. We also take over the entire insurance administration functions of the client and monitor the insurance portfolio on a regular basis.

Out-sourcing the management of an insurance portfolio to an insurance broker has become standard practice in the developed nations."

MTI's Bahrain-based CEO Hilmy Cader said "MTI has developed for DIB a solution that blends marketing and sales management.

We are confident that our efforts will help the company build closer relationships with its suppliers - the insurers - and its customers."

He said that MTI's out-sourced brand management has been customised to meet the needs of Delmege Insurance as a business-to business client. "Customer conversion and relationship management will determine the real strength of the brand in the minds of corporate clientele," he said.

Delmege Insurance serves a diverse client base of more than 75 major corporates in the financial, manufacturing, leisure, construction, plantations, services and education sectors. The company specializes in all classes of general insurance from motor, fire, marine, aviation and liability insurance to miscellaneous and engineering insurance, helping clients minimize paper work, manage risk and reduce administrative costs.
