A young suspect in two CTB bus explosion cases was further remanded till February 20 by the Kandy Magistrate C. V. Rajapakse on Wednesday.

The suspect, Segar Ganeshamoorth of Lindula is on remand in connection with two CTB bus explosions that took place in Pettah and Wattala on March 10 and 11, 2000.

When the case was called PC W. Dissanayake of the Central Range Special Investigation Unit (SIU) submitted a further report and said that the SIU had forwarded the inquiry proceedings to the Attorney General and was awaiting his report to file plaint.

He also told court that the second suspect Kaveri Moorthy of Lindula, who is on bail, had failed to appear in court and moved that a warrant be issued against him.

According to police both suspects are also alleged to have attempted to damage the Colombo-Badulla rail track at Lindula by exploding a bomb.
