by Sarath Malalasekera The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) investigating the missing of gold jewellery from a safe at a private bank yesterday took into custody a woman employee of the bank. CID DIG C. L. Ratnayake is directing investigations conducted by CID Director Senior SP Lionel Gunatilleke revealed that the special CID team had recovered Rs. 5 million worth of jewellery from the possession of the bank employee. CID special team investigating to ascertain whether any other employees of the bank are involved in the racket. The woman employee was produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate and remanded until completion of the ongoing investigations. |
