News Business Features Editorial Security Politics World Letters Sports Obituaries | Kotagala Township Development project The Minister for Housing and Estate Infrastructure Arumugam Thondaman has initiated the Kotagala Township Development and expansion projects at a heavy cost under the government's 100 day program recently and the work is under way already. This project includes the construction of 60 houses at a cost of rupees 580 lakhs, a large scale flood drainage system to the Town limits, Pipe borne water scheme at rupees 25 lakhs and improvements of roads and community centres etc, etc. Present with the Minister at the inauguration ceremony held at the Kotagala sports grounds were Deputy Minister Muthu Sivalingam, Provincial Council Minister V. Radhakrishnan, Provincial Council Members Sivagnanam, Nadarajapillai and Govindaraj, Ministry officials, NHDA and Water Board authorities and the N'Eliya Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Harischandran and the PS members. The Minister said at the meeting that this housing project will be extended to all parts of the country.
