by Nadira Gunatilleke Six separate "SAARC Centres" for cultural Affairs, education, sports, agriculture, archaeology and weather will be set up in Kandy prior to next "Randoli Perahera" according to a decision taken by Human Resources Development, Education and Cultural Affairs Minister Dr.Karunasena Kodithuwakku and new General Secretary of the SAARC R.A.Q.A.Raheem, a Cultural Affairs Ministry spokesman said. He said that the decision was taken during a discussion held between Minister Dr.Kodithuwakku and Mr.Raheem at the Cultural Affairs Ministry, Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla recently. Several other programs will also be implemented under the cultural exchange programs among the SAARC countries including a special project to promote youth with miscellaneous talents in the country. They will be awarded gold medals. Commencing a "Cultural Calendar" and developing archaeological sites as spots which attract tourists are also among the programs.
