100 day development program - a yardstick to measure efficiency of public servants by Ratnapura group correspondent The 100 day development program - target would be an effective yardstick to measure the efficiency and loyalty of the public servants, with the change of Government. If the government servants are devoted to their work in hand and work with a national ferver devoid of party politics, there is no need for fear of any transfer, said the Minister of Smallholdings Development, Susantha Punchinilame at Ratnapura recently. He was addressing a conference in the Ratnapura district Secretariat to discuss the development plan for the construction of 800 houses in the district under the 100 day program under which eight houses will be built in every electorate. Minister Punchinilame who presided also said that the new Government was not vindictive but development orientated. No government servant who works according to his conscience, without disloyalty, outside party politics, has nothing to fear. Besides, no transfer is intended in the near future. Housing Development Minister P. Harrison, MP Mahinda Ratnatilake, PCMs including the Chief Minister Mohan Ellawala participated. Minister Harrison said that within the 100 day-program housing development to ensure every houseless family a house in the district, would be undertaken along the lines of the late President Premadasa. To realise his vision, assistance of all government servants and other institution would be welcome. G.A. Malini Premaratne, Additional G.A.
