The Website Mahakaluhela.com organised scholarships for war victims' children. The first step was concluded on 31st January 2002. J.B. Wijekoon scholarships were awarded in memory of late Mr. J.B. Wijekoon who died in the Central Bank bomb attack. Year 2 student Esala Milan Vimukthi was awarded Rs. 40,000/- worth J.B. Wijekoon scholarships for food, medicine and educational purposes. Year 4 student Sanju Gayani was awarded Rs. 10,000/- J.B. Wijekoon scholarship for education.

D.S. Rupasinghe scholarship was awarded in memory of late Mr. D.S. Rupasinghe who died in the Rajagiriya bomb attack. Year 5 student Thusitha Maduranga was awarded Rs. 10,000 D.S. Rupasinghe scholarship for education.
