LTTE extends truce The LTTE announced they were extending by a further month a unilateral one-month truce they declared at Christmas Eve which was reciprocated by government troops. AFP said yesterday. The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) said in a statement that their move was aimed at giving Norwegian peace brokers more time to arrange a "mutually agreed structured ceasefire." the agancy report added. |
