D. S. J. Pelpola has been appointed Chairman of SriLankan Airlines to succeed S. K. Wickremesinghe who tendered his resignation with the announcement of the new Cabinet but continued to perform the statutory duties of his office until the new appointment was made.

K. N. Choksy, Minister of Finance has appointed Asitha Talwatte and Deva Rodrigo as members of the Board of Directors of the People's Bank.

Sunil Mendis, Chairman of the Hayleys Group of Companies and Faiz Mohideen, Deputy Secretary to the Treasury have been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Bank of Ceylon by the Minister of Finance.
