Permanent Club House for Sebastianites Sebastianites Cricket and Athletic Club which is 29 years old will move into its permanent club house today at 8.00 a.m. The club house situated at No. 50A, Lady Evelyn de Zoysa Drive will be declared open by Foreign Affairs Minister and former BCCSL President Tyronne Fernando. This was made possible after Ajith Cooray took over the presidency of the club in 2001. A new constitution was adopted and the club took the name "Sebastianite Cricket and Athletic Club." The club had the honour of being elected a Controlling Club of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka in 1993. The year 2000 - golden Year of the club - when they won the championship "under 23" and the "plate" in the premier division of the tournaments conducted by the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka. Thus the club came within the first ten teams in Sri Lanka cricket under the captaincy of Nimesh Perera. |
