by Kegalle special correspondent

A get together of the business community was held in Rambukkana Town Community Centre Hall. This meeting was presided over by the Kegalle District MP A. D. Premadasa (Chairman) a large number of businessmen from the area attended this meeting. Many of the former supporters of the PA, also attended this meeting.

Parliamentarian A. D. Premadasa, speaking said, that he started business' in a very small way and today he has become a recognised businessman and that he earned wealth through just means. He is always interested in giving a helping hand to those who make efforts to rise in life in just and peaceful means and today we have met in order to form an association of the business community in the area both for the good and welfare of the business community and for peace and prosperity of the locality.

We must get together and help the small businessmen to rise in life and to enlarge their scope of work. This attitude towards the business community will bring prosperity to the area.

In the recent past politicians who wielded power in this locality tried all that was possible to suppress those businessmen who were making efforts to enlarge their scope of business. Those politicians who conspired and harassed those businessmen who did not pull their line of politics.

Member of parliament Premadasa said, that he will treat all those who worked for him and those who worked against him in the same manner, and prepared to assist them in their needs at all times on an equal basis.

He said, that he will take every possible step to make Rambukkana a better town and that the will do his utmost to give a helping hand to all honest businessmen to improve their lot, whether they are friends or against him. He said, we can bring about prosperity and peace only through unity of all.

He went on to say in order to develop the Rambukkana town with all facilities to do big business like in cities, he will seek the assistance and co-operation of the Town Development Authority to enlarge this town and give it a modern look.

The Vice President of the Rambukkana Pradeshiya Sabha, Pradeshiya Sabha members G. P. Jayasinghe, SP Karunarathne and K. K. D. Wickramasiri also spoke.
