UNP aspirants for Local polls

Matale District MP Ranjith Aluvihare disclosed at a media briefing after a meeting with the constituents at Galewela Divisional Secretariat that the lists of the UNP candidates contesting the forthcoming Local Government Elections for Galewela, Dambulla and Pallepola Pradeshiya Sabhas would be released at the end of January.

Opposition leaders of Galewela and Dambulla Pradeshiya Sabhas R. M. Wijetunghe Banda and Nihal Gunawardhane and other UNP PS members and members of 340 UNP local branches were present on this occasion.

The District MP said that preference would be given to those applicants who submitted their application before the December 5th General Election in the selection of the candidates. MP also mentioned that out of the candidates, 40% would be young people and at least two places would be allocated for the women candidates.
