Aussies on the skids SYDNEY, Australia, Thursday, (AFP) - New Zealand beat World Cup one-day champions Australia for the second time inside a week here Thursday night when they snatched a 23-run victory at the Sydney Cricket Ground in the 190,000 dollar (95,000 US) tri-nations contest. It was the stunnned Australians' third defeat in three games in the annual tournament, while the Kiwi triumph left them joint leaders - with South Africa. New Zealand and South Africa have both won two games. Batting first after winning the toss, New Zealand made 235 for nine wickets before restricting the home nation to 212 all out. |
