The UNP will hold its 47th annual convention at the Colombo Town Hall grounds on Saturday January 12 at 9 a.m. Prime Minister and UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe will preside.

Party General Secretary Senarath Kapukotuwa will present the Party's annual report for adoption. Mr. Kapukotuwa said the appointment of Mr. Malik Samarawickrema as the party Chairman will also be ratified at this Convention. The committee handling the arrangements for the Convention has decided not to use polythene for decorations.
