News Business Features Editorial Security Politics World Letters Sports Obituaries | Govt. aims to establish a sound economy "The aim of the new government is to eradicate poverty and establish a sound economy expeditiously bringing prosperity, peace and harmony for the whole country," said School Education Minister Suranimala Rajapaksha at a meeting held at Dompe Divisional Secretariat recently. The meeting was held to review the progress and expedite the development work in Dompe electorate. He said to achieve these objectives the government has clear-cut successful development plans and strategies to implement. Therefore the officials should determine to serve the people with a sense of dedication and responsibility. He added the government never overlooked the problems of the government servants. Therefore they also have the bounden duty to implement the state plans properly to cater to the needs of the people. Gamini Gunarathna, the United National Party organizer of Dompe, divisional secretary Mrs. C. P. W. Gunatilake and a few others also spoke. |
