Housing Development Minister P. Harrison has instructed the administrative authorities of the National Housing Development Authority to appoint an internal committee to investigate the appointments and promotions made during the period between nominations day and polling day (December 5), an NHDA news release said. The committee has been asked to probe this issue and submit a report within one week. Nearly 400 new appointments have been made during this period and a large number of housing units within urban and suburban areas in the country have been allocated on low prices ignoring the normal procedures, the release added. The committee will investigate how these appointments were made and how the housing units and properties were allocated. |
