"Professor Saman Gunatilake has been elected President of the Ceylon College of Physicians for the year 2002. Ceylon College of Physicians is the oldest professional medical college in Sri Lanka and Prof. Saman Gunatilake will be its 26th President. Professor Saman Gunatilake has specialized in Neurology and he is the head of the department of medicine in the University of Kelaniya. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine in Colombo and has the post graduate qualification of MD Colombo and MRCP UK. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and Edingburg. Main objectives of the Ceylon College of Physicians are to foster postgraduate medical education and maintain high standards of medical practice. Induction ceremony of Professor Gunatilake as the President will take place on January 12, at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute. |
