Premium Exports signs three-year collective agreement

Premium Exports (Ceylon) Ltd - Ceytea Agrapatna, a fully owned subsidiary of Unilever Ceylon Ltd, signed a three-year Collective Agreement with the staff and Workforce Unions on January 1.

The new collaboration between the employees and the employer is expected to bring in favourable results through better working conditions and increased productivity, a company spokesman said.

It was signed at the Employers Federation of Sri Lanka in the presence of a representative of the Parent Union of the Inter Company Employees Union (ICEU) which represents staff and workforce unions. Premium Exports (Ceylon) Ltd - Ceytea Agrapatna produces instant tea and liquid tea for the export market.

"The negotiations were carried out in a cordial atmosphere. Unilever Ceylon Ltd is confident that the current progress of Premium Exports will continue thus maintainig the company's leading edge in the ready-to-drink tea industry," the spokesman said.

Premium Exports is an ISO 9001 certified factory which was the winner of the National Safety Award for the Medium Category last year. It has 200 employees.
