Death of veteran journalist
Mr. Samarasinghe commenced his campaign to promote what he had called the ‘Reality Principle’, by publishing his first monthly Sinhala magazine in 1968.He also published a weekly called ‘Chiththa Dharma Vidya’ (Science of the Mind). Mr. Sumanadasa Samarasinghe stepped into the world of creative writing and contributed several valuable books to quench the literary thirst of the reading public. His creations to-date are ‘Manasa’ - a monthly magazine. ‘Minis Hithe Haskam’, a book series, ‘Sithe Ethena Bol Duhuwili’, ‘Minis Sitha Handunaganna’, ‘Sampath Uda Karana Bavangha Sitha’, ‘Chiththa Bala Vidyawa’, ‘Ilakkaya Hamba Yana Chiththa Balaya’, ‘Chintha Manikya Rathnaya’, ‘Janapriya Ayeku Wanna’, ‘Diriya Awadivena Sithudam Hinipela’, ‘Swayang Yojana Getalu’, ‘Raththaran Duwe Puthe’, ‘Nowaradina Ekama Maga’, ‘Adaraya Karanna Kenek Nedda’, ‘Chiththa Dhamma Vidya Lama Potha’, ‘Uparima Vindanayata Psycho Cybernatics etc.He leaves behind his wife Tilaka (USA) two daughers Nayani and Aruni (USA) and son Sunimal (USA). Mr. Samarasinghe’s funeral t00k place at Borella, Kanatta. |
