Pirith chanting at Dalada Maligawa

An all night pirith chanting ceremony will be held at the Dalada Maligawa Kandy on January 1, today to be followed by a Sanghika Dana on 2nd, to invoke blessings on the country and the people for the new year in general and to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and his new government in particular.

Most Ven. Mahanayake Theras of Malwatte and Asgiriya Mahavihara Chapters and members of the Maha Sangha will be participating in the pirith chanting ceremony and the dana.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Members of the Cabinet and other Ministers and MPs will also be participating in these ceremonies. These ceremonies are organised by Diyawadana Nilame Neranjan Wijeyeratne.

Prime Minister and others will also be participating in a special Pooja to the Sacred Tooth Relic and will call on Most Ven. Mahanayake Theras to receive their blessings.
