Fraternal battle in Chilaw

The “Fraternal Battle” between Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa and
St.mary’s College Chilaw will take place for the foruth consective year
today at St.Mary’s College Ground Chilaw.
This is the first annual cricket match played in the Puttlam district
which began in 2010. The players of both schools have performed well in
the all - island inter schools cricket tournament.
Joseph Vaz College have secured the “Fraternal Trophy” for three
times while St.Mary’s were unable to clinch the trophy for a single
time.
Kasun Vidura, the skipper of Joseph Vaz College of Wennappuwa has
made Puttlam District proud with his inclusion to the under 19 Sri Lanka
National Squad. This season he excelled with both bat and ball.
The match is assured to be an entertaining match to whole crowd and
spectators are expected to come in numbers.
