Lal Chandrasena heads PHA

The 15th annual general greeting of the Private Hospitals Association (PHA) was held recently at the auditorium of the organization of Professional Associations (OPA), Colombo and Prof. Lal Chandrasena of Nawaloka Hospitals was appointed President.

Wijaya Ransi of Western Infirmary Hospital of Colombo 8, was elected as Secretary and Dinesh Jayaweera of Royal Hospital and Nishantha Jayamanna was elected as Assistant Secretaries. K.S. Surendran of Ratnams Private Hospital, was elected as the Treasurer and Samantha Perera of Asiri Hospital as the Assistant Treasurer.

This will also constitute of the Governing Body of the Association. The outgoing President T. J. Emmanuel of Joseph Frazer Hospital, handed over the reigns of office to Prof. Chandrasena in the presence of past President Prof. W.A Ferdinand of Manthri Nursing Home, Negombo in the presence of the membership who were present in the Auditorium of the OPA Auditorium Colombo 7. APH consists of 194 member Hospitals and Nursing Homes throughout the country. The Vice Presidents represent Small, Medium and Large scale hospitals.

The following Office Bearers were elected for the ensuring year 2012/2013.

President: Prof. Lal Chandrasena of Nawaloka Hospitals

Vice Presidents: Ananda Kuruppuarachchi of Pannipitiya Nuring Home, Indrani Fernando of Philip Hospitals, Kalutara, Murtaza Esufally of Hemas Hospital and Sarath Jayasinghe of Kandy Private Hospital.
