Maha Sangha’s guidance vital to create disciplined society -President

President Mahinda Rajapkasa said the Maha Sanga has to guide the country, which was liberated from three decades of terrorism, to create a righteous and disciplined society. The President was addressing a gathering at Mullegama Arya Nikethana Bikku Training Centre, Godagama yesterday after opening the a Golden Fence (Ran Veta) around the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi sapling.

Besides the Golden Fence, the President opened several other constructions at the temple on an invitation of Chief Incumbent Ven Mavarelle Baddiya Thera.

The President pointed out that the necessity of having a disciplined society, which will enrich cultural values, such as,protecting elders and creating a righteous society etc.

The President highlighted the social and religious service rendered by Ven Baddiya Thera. Parliamentarian Ven Aturaliye Rathana, Ministers Patali Champika Ranawaka and Bandula Gunawardena also participated.
