Dr. Sun Myung Moon's funeral today
Founder of Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Dr. Sun Myung Moon has
died at the age of 93 on September 3 at the Cheongshim International
Medical Center in Cheongpyong, South Korea.

Dr. Sun Myung Moon had been playing a significant role in promoting
peace building, good governance, family values and interfaith harmony
and understanding in Sri Lanka as well as all around the world. He had
consultative status with the UN Economic and social Council, UPF and
under its umbrella, the organizations such as Inter-religious Federation
for World Peace (IIFWP), Religious Youth Service (RYS), Inter-religous
Peace Sports Festival (IPSF), Women's Federation for World Peace (WFWP)
and Peace Dream Foundation has embarked on various projects to help the
activities of Children, Youth and Women in Sri Lanka.
He touched the lives of thousands of youth in Sri Lanka giving them a
vision of a world without religious misunderstanding and prejudice.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne, Leader of
the Opposition Ranil Wickremesinghe, Cabinet Ministers, Members of
Parliament and several political, religious and academic leaders from
Sri Lanka offered their condolences to the wife and family of Dr. Sun
Myung Moon.
His funeral will take place today at the Cheongshim Peace World
Center in Cheongpyong amidst of a large gathering.
