LLRC scores over Darusman
Govt will decide who monitors implementation:

The LLRC report produced by Sri Lanka won wide recognition over the
Darusman report all over the world. This is a victory for the Sri Lankan
government.
The government clearly stated that it will implement the
recommendations of the LLRC from the beginning, Economic Development
Deputy Minister and Acting Media Minister Lakshman Yaya Abeywardena
said.
�All recommendations that can be implemented instantly have been
implemented and others are being implemented at the moment. The
recommendations that have an impact on the entire country will be
discussed at the proposed Parliamentary Select Committee,� he said.
Addressing the weekly Cabinet press briefing at the Government
Information Department Auditorium yesterday, Minister Yapa said that
from the beginning, the government followed its own strategies to solve
the country�s problems.
�The government identified requirements and requests for assistance
when required. Offering assistance by force is not acceptable at all.
This is what is going to happen through the US resolution,� he said.
Minister Yapa pointed out that the Sri Lankan Government's priority
is the country's safety and National Security.
If foreign persons and groups come into Sri Lanka in the name of
providing 'technical assistance' it is possible for them to create
terrorism in the country again.
Therefore it is the Sri Lankan Government which will decide how and
who monitor the implementation of LLRC recommendations and not anybody
else especially outside elements.
The Government has already commenced to implement the LLRC
recommendations and the main opposition UNP request the same.
The LLRC Report was approved by the Sri Lankan Cabinet and the
Parliament.
At the moment, Sri Lankan people have shown the whole world that they
are with the Government.
Nothing is mentioned in the resolution about war crimes. Sri Lanka is
not against the UN or UNHRC. The Sri Lankan delegation has educated all
countries on the real situation and the team continue to do so.
The team carried out awareness raising and special delegations have
already been sent to countries which do not have Lankan embassies and
high commissions in Sri Lanka, Minister Yapa added.
