Considerable damage has been caused to two temples in Rambukkana by treasure hunters during the past two weeks.

The two temples were the Tampita Viharaya belonging to the Kandyan era and the Daluggala Bodhirajaramaya. Most of the statues in these temples have been broken by the intruders in their search for hidden treasures while the pagoda of the Daluggala Bodhirajaramaya has also been pillaged.
