Increased demand for cashew wine

Sri Lanka Cashew Corporation has recommenced cashew wine production
with the increased demand for cashew wine in the local market.
Sri Lanka Cashew Corporation Chairman Sanath Weerakoon told Daily
News Business that, almost 2,000 bottles of cashew wine has been
produced by the Sri Lanka Cashew Corporation after the recommencement of
the production. It is now available at the Sri Lanka Cashew Corporation
outlets in Rajagiriya, Kollpity and Hambantota.
Cashew wine is produced by the Sri Lanka Cashew Corporation with
sector collaboration.
"When production increases, we will make arrangements to be enter the
foreign market. It would probably be in the end of this year", he said.
Cashew wine is made using cashew apple and it has a high demand in
the market, he said. Cashew wine is only available in Sri Lanka and it
has a unique taste compared with other wines in the world, he added.
Sri Lanka Cashew Corporation was established in 1973 with the
objective of producing quality cashew products thus becoming the leading
cashew producer and exporter in the world. Under the Mission of the
Corporation, they are in process of developing the cashew industry by
providing professional guidance to farmers for cashew cultivation,
processing, value addition, research and market promotion. |
