Three CID teams to investigate land disputes

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) DIG Jayantha Kulatilaka has deployed three special teams to Kandy, Kurunegala and Jaffna to conduct on-the-spot investigations into complaints received by the CID in connection with land disputes and preparation of forged deeds. These three special CID teams at present, in those areas will conduct investigations into complaints received by the CID and submit a comprehensive report to the CID DIG. Earlier, the CID DIG set up a separate unit to investigate complaints that lands are sold on forged documents and by preparing forged deeds.

�If any party has threatened you and made you to part with your legal property under duress or used force to evict you from such property you are requested to lodge a complaint to the following officers of the CID on the given telephone numbers or through a fax message - CID -DIG on 011 2328138 -Fax 011 2326937,� DIG Kulatilaka said. The special Investigation Unit Nos-011 2320141 upto 4 and FAX - 011 2380380.
