Kegalu Vidyalaya pile up 399 for 5

An aggressive knock of 109 with 8 fours and 7 sixes by Vimantha Ratnayake helped Kegalu Vidyalaya to total 399 for 5 declared in their schools under 19 cricket tournament match against Wayamba Royal College which began at Army Grounds, Ambepussa yesterday.

Kegalu Vidyalaya's innings was propped up by two good partnerships. First Shan Chathuranga (47) and Tharaka Somathilaka (57) put on 110 for the third wicket. Next Vimantha Ratnayake and Thusitha Premathilaka (67 not out) were associated in fourth wicket stand of 118.

Kegalu Vidyalaya: 399 for 5 declared in 68 overs (Bimshendra Ranaweera 25 retired hurt, Tharaka Somathialaka 55, Shan Chathuranga 42, Vimantha Ratnayake 109, Tharindu Somaratne 28, Thusitha Prematilleke 67 n.o, Samadhi Dassanayake 39 n.o, and Yasith Herath 2 for 40).

Wayamba Royal College: 121 for 4 in 21 overs (Hasantha Lahiru Arachchi 97, Yasodh Kavinda 12, Tharaka Somathilaka 2 for 23).
