Gold chain thieves remanded
A suspect on a motorcycle who snatched a gold chain valued at nearly
Rs 90,000 from a woman walking along Mathews Road, Jaffna on Monday was
arrested by the Jaffna Police.
He was produced before the Jaffna magistrate and remanded until
January 3. Investigations are continuing. Meanwhile, another suspect who
had snatched a gold chain worth Rs 75,000 from a woman at Mariar Road,
Kalmunai on Monday was remanded till January 4 when he was produced
before the Kalmunai magistrate by the Kalmunai Police on Tuesday.
