Solar Power project for Tissamaharama

The construction work of the Buruthakanda Solar Power Generation
project is nearing completion where 731 kilo watts of solar power will
be produced at the initial stage.
The project is co-funded by Japan and Korea.
Meanwhile, Rs one million was spent for the renovation of Hambantota
Thammenna wewa by the Southern Development Authority where about 200
paddy acres could be brought under the plough as a result.
The Thammenna wewa Govi Samithi Chairman J J Munasinghe said, �the
driving force behind the project were Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa and
Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa�.
Meanwhile, the Tissamaharama sacred city development programme will
soon be under way with the development of the road complex, water supply
project, and electricity supply, setting up of pilgrims rests and common
amenities, vehicle park, flower stalls, library facilities and
protective fences.
The Department National Physical Planning has drawn up the plan for
the sacred city.
The Urban Development and Construction and Public Utilities Ministry
will implement the project. |
