Police arrest teen over shooting
A 19-year-old is being questioned over the gang shooting of
five-year-old Thusha Kamaleswaran. Thusha along with shopkeeper Roshan
Selvakumar, were innocent bystanders caught up in crime war crossfire
inside a Stockwell shop.
The two victims - both originally from Sri Lanka - were left
critically injured after the attack on Tuesday.
The man is being questioned at a south London police station as more
officers were drafted in around Stockwell Food and Wine store, with
sources saying up to 50 gangs were operating in the immediate vicinity.
Police arrested the 19-year-old after one of the teenagers targeted by
gangsters who accidentally shot Thusha came out of hiding to help find
the gun attackers.
Thusha�s parents are maintaining vigil by her hospital bed while
detectives try to build up a picture of the attackers� movements.
She remains in a �critical but stable� condition after opening her
eyes for the first time since the attack yesterday. |
