Lanka eradicated seven diseases

Sri Lanka has very successfully eradicated seven diseases. The National Immunization Program played a key role in this regard. The country needs to control Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs), dengue and AH1N1, WHO Representative to Sri Lanka Dr F R Mehta said.

Addressing the launch of `Profile of partners in health' at Cinnamon Lake Side Hotel, Colombo yesterday, Dr Mehta said that one International magazine had named Sri Lanka as the eighth most flood prone country in the world.

`Profile of partners in health' is a good reference for anybody who wish to obtain details on organizations work in the health sector in Sri Lanka.

The `WHO' plays a key role during disasters.
