Logistics and International Trade Quiz this June

The overwhelming success and the enthusiasm shown by the participants at Sri Lanka's first ever Logistics and International Trade Quiz held in April last year, has prompted the Sri Lanka Shippers' Council to team up once again with the local Chapter of the International Quizzing Association and organize this year's event at the Water's Edge on June 3.

IQA, in its quest to upgrade the standards and popularise quizzing as a mind sport endeavours to promote the friendly rivalry amongst industry stakeholders and enhance the knowledge of the participants in this vast area of trade and logistics. Sri Lanka Shippers' Council also is confident this will bring together players in the sector into a sociable atmosphere to create the synergy needed in the industry to take it to a more vibrant level.

The quiz will be conducted according to the rules and standards of IQA and will see some of the best brains in the industry competing with one another for supremacy and the prestige of being named the best in their respective sectors.

The organizers have developed the Quiz to accommodate different categories of international trade and logistics and will award cash prizes and trophies for the winners. Proposed awards are as follows: Overall winner - The team that scores the highest marks at the end of all five rounds shall be declared the winner of The President's Trophy for the IQA SLSC Logistics and International Trade Quiz, First runner-up and Second runner-up.

There will also be Sector Awards presented in the following categories: Shippers (Exporters and Importers), Shipping Lines and Air Lines, Liner Agents, Freight Forwarders, Banks and Financial Institutes, Educational Institutions, Service providers to the shipping industry, and Individual and Independent Groups

The Sri Lanka Shippers' Council invites those in the Logistics and International Trade fields to use this event to showcase their knowledge and make use of the event, not only as a forum to gain experience and capacity building for the new comers but also as a unique opportunity for network building for the veterans.

Those interested in participating are requested to contact the Sri Lanka Shippers' Council (SLSC) Secretariat at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
