Women perform a pivotal role in the society. They not only bear, nurture and nourish the society but they play their part in contributing to the development of society in diverse areas as well.

However this fact itself is ignored in many societies. However in Sri Lankan society the impeccable contribution delivered by the woman cannot be ignored. The country's coffers depend on the women in the fields of plantation, apparel industry and the foreign labour.

MAS Holdings' 'Women Go beyond' is aimed at stressing the equanimity of women and bringing their significant contributions to the spotlight. The award ceremony is focuses on dedicated and courageous women within the portals of the company. It is a way of felicitating them and boosting their spirits.

'Women Go Beyond' is just another initiative launched by MAS to empower women. The company launched projects all year round which help women gain knowledge and brush up their skills. Throughout the years they have introduced a number of talented women from the rural areas of the island.

Most of the 'Women Go Beyond' award winners have reached their goals in life playing numerous roles of a sister, wife, mother and working woman. The winners were picked from four main categories: Supporting Career Advancement , Work Life balance, Skill Development and Rewarding Excellence.

MAS Holdings Chairman Mahesh Amalean and Chief Guest Sriyani Thilakawardena witnessed the event in which some colourful entertainment items were presented by the women.
