Suspect ordered to appear before Court

Colombo Fort Acting Magistrate and Additional District Judge Chandani
Meegoda yesterday directed a suspect who had alleged to have obtained
power illegally to appear in Court again January 11, 2011.
Sergeant MM Namasinghe of the Fort Police who produced the suspect
Izadeen Mohamed Nizam of Olcott Mawatha, Colombo 12 said that the
suspect is alleged to have obtained power from the main electricity
board for his official use without proper authority.
Sergeant Namasinghe said the suspect had to pay Rs 1,158,530 for the
Electricity Board. The suspect was earlier released on Rs 50,000 bail
with two sureties each.
Attorney Sudashini Gunaratne appeared for the suspect. |
