Under the service sector RN Construction bagged the gold award in the extra large category.

Industrialists in different sectors were feted under national and provincial level for achievements in their endeavours. Awards categories were: National Award - Manufacturing Sector, National Award - Service Sector, Provincial Award - Manufacturing Sector, Provincial Award - Service Sector, Five Categories - Extra Large, Large, Medium, Small and Micro and Special District Award - Northern Province.

A special feature in the CNCI Achiever Awards scheme is the recognition of local industrialists who have set up manufacturing units in SAARC countries on their own or as a joint venture where the Sri Lankan investment is over 50 percent. A further notable feature of CNCI Achiever Award is the recognition of an Industrial venture in each of the SAARC countries. They are recommended by the respective chambers in that Country and assessed by the Judging Committee based on the same criteria applicable to the local industrialists.

This facilitation encourages bilateral co-operation and offers opportunities for business delegations from the SAARC Regional Countries to visit Sri Lanka promoting joint ventures.

This year there were nominees from Pakistan, India and Maldives.

The judges panel was headed by Sunil G Wijesinha. Prime Minister D M Jayaratne was the chief guest.
