Lankan invents novel turbo nozzle
Indunil HEWAGE
Turbo nozzle, a device that collects particulate matters from diesel
exhaust has been invented by Neville Wickramasinghe from Handyman
Enterprise. This project has been funded by a grant of the United
Nations Development Program.
This device is the world's first soot collector for diesel exhausts
and has been obtained the patent from international Patent Authority.
Current technology in the device will control the emission from
catalysts while filtering the diesel particulate. Health and
environmental effects of diesel particulate matters exposure create
premature death and decreased lung function in children while increasing
the global warming. The first 100 turbo nozzles will be used for Sri
Lanka Transport Board buses shortly. |
