DIMO launches Star Bus

Ranjith Pandithage introduced the newest version of passenger
transport bus in the TATA bus range, Star Bus yesterday. Pandithage said
the Star Bus is introduced to take passenger transport in Sri Lanka to
greater heights, keeping in mind the country as a tourist hub.
The first 25 buses were handed over to bus owners.
“It is also a socially responsible exercise which advocates a
pollution free environment,” he said.
Economic boom in the North and The East in post war era has been a
concern for the company lately.
Dimo has opened branches in Jaffna, Vavuniya, Akkaraipattu and
Trincomalee and will soon open a branch in Kilinochchi to cater to the
population in North and the East.
TATA Motors Country Manager Arup Baruah said the Government has given
support in terms of affordable taxation in importing the bus from India,
which is a great relief. TATA brand has been playing a significant role
in the business of transport for 70 years. |
