Easy for Antonian Girls

A first half blitz by St. Anthony's Girls College, Kandy saw them register an easy 4-0 win over Girls High School in their Kandy schools girls under 19 hockey tournament match played at the University ground, Peradeniya on Thursday. At half time St. Anthony's led 4-0.

As the scoreline indicates the initial half saw the Antonian losses put a lot of aggression into their play which saw them run up a commanding score and this virtually wrapped up the game for them.

But in the second session the Girls High School strikers covered up their weak links and displayed a different strategy in defending their territory which stopped their opponents from increasing their tally.

Sounding the boards for St. Anthony's was centre forward Keshani Herath who displayed good stick work to score twice.

The other goal scorers were Samadhi Senaviratne (1) and left extreme Silmiya Muhajireen (1).

A. Senthil Kumar and A.B. Godigamuwa umpired.
