TNA misguided Tamils - Sritharan

Eelam People’s Revolutionary Liberation Front (Padmanaba) Party General Secretary Thirunavukkarasu Sritharan said that the Tamil National Alliance had misguided the Tamils. He added that as a matter of policy his party supported President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Presidential Election held on January 26.

Sritharan warmly welcomed the results which showed a massive victory for President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

He added that President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s political leadership led to the defeat of terrorism that ruined the country for three decades.

The EPRLF General Secretary said that he was sure that the President would not be biased. He further said that President Mahinda Rajapaksa had made historical contribution to the country without submitting to the pressure of external forces.

The President had ensured democracy in the North and the East. It was because of his wise leadership Tamils were able to exercise their democratic rights after many years, Sritharan said.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s hands should be strengthened by the Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims to develop the country, he pointed out. Sritharan added that all progressive forces should be united in defeating reactionaries which retarded the economic uplift of the nation.
