Black Red and White
Jayanthi Liyanage
Black is deep. Black is regal. Black endures. Red scalds. Red is
passion. Red rouses love. White is virginal. White waits to be explored.
Trusts seduction will not taint.

The Black Red White Concert presents Kushanee Sandarekha, teamed up
with Kasun Kalhara and Amal Perera, in a fine blend of three different
feelings. If you are to go by the calibre of individual creativity the
trio had wooed audiences with before, the concert promises to be a taste
of choice liqueur, of style and polish. If you want to take a sip, the
date is November 7. The time is 7 p.m. The venue is B.M.I.C.H.
This acoustic performance of one-and-a-half-hours, says Kushanee,
is our beautiful gift to people who feel passionate about music and
look for meaningfulness in complementary dance. The renditions of
original Sinhala songs will be different from what fans usually see.
The three are among the cream of the new generation Sinhala artistes,
continuing the singing traditions of their parents. Kasun Kalhara
Jayawardena is the son of the late Malini Bulathsinghala and musician
H.M. Jayawardena. Amal Perera is the son of the late Mervin Perera.
Kushanee, an accomplished songstress and a Dancing Queen herself, is the
one who has put on the family hat of music and dance.
The daughter of singer Maya Damayanthi and musician Victor Vijayantha
Perera, her toes had twirled and voice chords trilled, from the age of
four.
Tickets for the Black Red White Concert will be available at Odel,
Laufghs supermarkets, Torana Majestic City, Torana Liberty Plaza, Stone
and String and Sarasavi Book Shop. |
