Table leaders Ratnam and Renown favoured to win

After three weeks of competition in the Dialog Champions league soccer championship Ratnam SC and Renown SC have maintained an unbeaten record to stay on top of the points table in group A, while in group B Sri Lanka Army and Don Bosco SC head the points table.

Ratnam SC and Renown SC after playing three games each have collected 7 points each winning two games and drawing one game. But on the goal average Ratnam SC comes on top as they have an aggregate of 11 goals, while Renown has six goals into their tally.

Both teams have conceded only four goals from their games.

Meanwhile in group B the leaders Sri Lanka Army collected six points with two wins and a loss. The second placed Don Bosco too have the same number of points gained in the same manner.

Jupiters SC and old Bens from group A and Sri Lanka Police and Negombo Youth Sports Club from group B are placed right at the bottom of their groups. But Jupiters SC and police SC have won a game each to gain three points.

This weekend games show that both leading teams in group A are billed to face lastly placed Jupiters SC and old Bens SC. These two games will definitely add points to the leaders and they will still get the chance of holding on to their top spots for a further week.

In group B to the same will happen when Sri Lanka Army take on police SC and Don Bosco SC meet Negombo Youth SC.

Here too the leaders will not have any difficulty in holding on to their positions.

Meanwhile in this New Youngs SC will confront the Kalutara's Blue Star SC a win for the Wennappuwa team keep them at third slot and win for the Kalutara boys could push them a step forward to the third position.

This could be a good game for spectators to watch this weekend.

In group A the best game will be the battle between Air Force and Saunders SC in Colombo. Saunders SC who went down to Renown SC few days ago will have to come as a unit if they are to over run the Airmen in this game.

On the other hand Air Force who have combined well should play their normal game and come out as victors. Saunders SC's failure to play good soccer during the last three weeks should be corrected soon to outplay the Airmen. This weekend games group 'A' Saturday
