Ranaviru Upahara at Nalanda College

The �Eighth Ranaviru Upahara� ceremony organized by the Nalanda
College Junior Old Boys Association was held recently with the
participation of Defence Secretary Godabhaya Rajapaksa as the Chief
Guest. Guests of Honours were Chief of Defence Staff Sarath N. Fonseka,
Army Commander Lt. General Jagath Jayasuriya, Navy Commander Vice
Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe, Air Force Commander Air Chief Marshal
Roshan Goonetileke and IGP Jayantha Wickremaratne.
Hemantha Prematilleke made the welcome speech and Sugath Nagahawela
delivered the Vote of Thanks.
Ninety Two Army Personnel including Milinda Peiris, D.M.D. Alwis.
S.Sooriyabandara, 53 personnel from the Navy including Commanders N.G.B.
Tennakoon, G.J.D. Amarasinghe, S.A.S. Abeysinghe and K.K.J de Silva, 50
personnel from the Air Force including Air Vice Marshals E.G. I. de
Silva and E.P.D. Liyanage and fifty nine Police personnel including DIGs
Asoka Wijetilleka, D.S.R. Wanaguru, Sisira Mendis, T.N. Wijegunawardena
participated. They received the �Ranaviru Medal� from the Defence
Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa at the OBA meeting.
