Computerised data to promote milk production

Measures will be taken to computerise the data of milching cows in the farms belonging to the Board under the national program to promote local milk production, Deputy Chairman of the National Livestock Development Board, Roshan Gunawardena said.

Data analysis of cattle herds and management program have been introduced thereby, the Head Office will have speedy access of datas regarding the history of cattle herds, number of cows at the termination of milching span, conceivable cows, and cows undergone Veterinary care.

Considerable amount of money and time have to be spent in future planning to enhance the capacity of production of 30 dairy farms belong to National Livestock Development Board.

He said by computerising the data and management program a considerable amount of money and time could be saved. By computerising the data within a short period vast amount of work could be implemented and enable the management to have all the details at the finger tip. Gunawardena said this will extensively enhance the local economy.
