Kandy District in hard fought win

Kandy District were made to fight hard before posting a three wicket win over Kegalle District in their Sri Lanka Cricket Under-19 inter-district cricket tournament match played at the Prisons Grounds at Pallekelle yesterday.

Kegalle District taking first strike made 155 all out with M.U.K. Sriyaratne top scoring with 41. Left arm spinner Adil Reyal took 2 for 16 while oss spinner Rushan Jaleel took 3 for 18.

Chasing a target of 156, Kandy District almost made a mess of it by being too hasty. They just managed to score 156 for 7 in 31.3.

Kegalle District: 155 all out in 46.5 overs (Udara Tillekasiri 26, M.U.K. Sriyaratne 41, Roshan Weerasinghe 26, R.M. Gunaratne 17, S.C. Denipitiya 19, Rushan Jaleel 3 for 18, Adil Reyal 2 for 16).

Kandy District: 156 for 7 wickets in 31.3 overs (Adil Reyal 35, Niroshan Dickwella 27, Sandun Weerakkody 31, Rahula Ekanayake 16, Rushan Jaleel 13, S.C. Denipitiya 3 for 47, Roshan Weerasinghe 2 for 39, S.C. Juliard 2 for 23).
