JVP Media Unit states in a press release that the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna's International Unit has organised a series of massive protest campaigns in several countries in Europe, Middle East, and across the Atlantic to urge the Sri Lanka Government not to de-proscribe the LTTE till they agree to give up Eelam and hand over their weapons. The JVP protest campaign in Europe will be held in countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Germany while there will also be a series of mass-scale protest campaigns in several States in the US where the majority of Lankans reside. JVP Leader Somawansa Amerasinghe who is now back in London co-ordinating the activities of the JVP International Unit is expected to lead their protest campaign in Britain. These protest campaigns are will be conducted during January 2002. |
