The trophy handing over ceremoy will be held in the main pavilion after the completion of the first session of the match which will be around 6.00 p.m.

The Theme

LG associates their brand with the Sun Flower, the flower that freshly blooms as the first rays of the sun shine down on the face of the earth. The scene for the ceremony opens with a giant sun flower in the centre of the stage with Channas Dance Troupe performing a ballet around the sun flower. The Sun Flower blooms and opens to reveal the LG Abans Trophy inside it.

The Presentation

The trophy is taken from the sun flower and handed over to Mrs. Aban Pestonjee, the dynamic chairperson of the Abans Group of Companies who will ceremonially hand it over to Vijaya Malalasekera, Chairman of the BCCSL.

The trophy

The LG Abans Trophy is a beautiful representation of the inspirational concept in a highly stylized graphical representation of the Four Leaf Clover which is supposed to make wishes come true. It's a true work of art.

For the first time we have a trophy made completely of transparent acrylic depiciting a clover growing from an acrylic base with three clover leaves signifying the three participating nations. In place of the fourth leaf is a cricket ball, which also symbolizes the LG logo.

Awards to the winning team

In addition to the prize money on offer, each member of the winning team will be presented with a state-of-the-art 29" LG Flatron television.

Award To The Man Of The Series

The LG Abans Man of The Series will receive a fabulous LG 43" Super Large Screen Projection Home Theatre System which is a top of the range model LG.

LG and Abans

Abans Limited are the sole agents for LG products in Sri Lanka. This year Abans were awarded the LG Award for Excellence which is presented to the most outstanding of LGs worldwide agents for the sales and marketing of their products.

Grand finale

Immediately after the Awards Ceremony the spectators will be entertained by a grand fireworks display presented with the compliments of LG Abans. This too is the first time such a fireworks display will be held at the culmination of a cricket tournament.
