SLT training for Commonwealth countries

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has successfully concluded six training programs for Commonwealth countries under the Development program of the Commonwealth Telecommunication organisation.

The courses included Tele-traffic engineering and network management for Gambia, Internet networking for Kenya, Basics of digital switching systems for Tanzania, Traffic engineering and network management for Sierra Leone, Human resources planning for Tanzania, Effective training needs survey and analysis for Mozambique. These courses except Human resources planning for which an expert of the subject was sent to Tanzania were conducted at the SLT Training Centre, Welisara.

Three other courses are scheduled to be conducted in the future. They are Network management and tele-traffic engineering for Papua New Guinea, Introduction to human resources management for Trinidad and Tobago and for Ghana.

Under the CTO Development Program most of the countries which offer training are developed countries such as the United Kingdom (British Telecom), Canada, Malaysia and Australia. Among these countries now Sri Lanka (SLT) is also considered as a country offering training because CTO has recognised the courses conducted by the SLT to be on par with international standards.
